After our first Compassion Day in Portland and its suburbs, we can report over 1,200 hours of acts of love, compassion, and community service given to this city by Adventist Youth, Young, Adults, Children, and Adults. The Portland projects were well covered, we did need more help with the Portsmouth Projects. If you are registered for Portsmouth tomorrow, we need you there, early and ready to be the Eyes, the Heart, the Hands, and the Feet of Jesus.

Tonight some of the volunteer groups came to Pine Tree Academy for Sabbath Vespers, popcorn, and songs. We heard beautiful testimonies of what God did through us during the day today.

Many are still traveling, we continue to pray for safe travel, as you arrive in Portland to participate in the rest of the Compassion Annual Rally.

Following just a few updates:

COMPASSION MISSION PROJECTS

We begin early tomorrow.

Scott Campbell, our Compassion Mission Projects Coordinator in Portland, has worked with Milca Amich, the Administrator Assistant  of the Adventist Youth Ministries Department, and Kurt Amos, Project Coordinator in Portsmouth, to make sure that we communicate with the leaders of each group, which signed up for projects. By now, your group leader has received a confirmation for the projects.

Group Leader, please check your confirmation and report to your project on time every morning. As it was indicated, we will not have a gathering before the projects, we will have worship as groups in our places of lodging, and go directly to our projects.

Scott Campbell will be available to help at our Compassion Headquarters tomorrow and on Saturday (till 10:30 AM). If by any chance you need to get in touch with him, feel free to contact:

COMPASSION & PRAYER MARCH AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Dress Warm, use layers, dress as if you were going to a Super Bowl game, or going skiing 😉

The Weather may be cold tomorrow, possible light snow and temperatures in the 40s have been predicted. We will march together for Compassion and Against Domestic Violence. Over 1,000 youth, young adults, children and adults will tell the city of Portland that compassion can help reduce domestic violence in this city and throughout the state of Maine.

Don’t even think of staying indoors because it is cold 😉 Dress appropriately and come out! This is an awesome opportunity to reach out to Portland!

Gathering Place for March and Reserved Parking

We will gather at the Mill Creek Plaza Parking Lot at 2:00 PM

The address is Mill Creek Shaw’s Plaza, South Portland, Maine 04106.

We are requesting that each group arranges to drop off their participants at this location by 2:00 PM.

We have reserved 500 parking spaces right in Monument Square, on the other side on the Portland side of the Bridge. When participants are dropped off at Mill Creek Plaza, we will need drivers to come back to Monument Square, park, and we will shuttle you back to the Mill Creek Plaza for the March, which will begin at 3:00 PM.

Address for Monument Square is: One (1) Monument Square, Portland, Maine 04101

Beginning at 3:00 PM sharp, we will march over the Casco Bay Bridge to Monument Square in Portland.

Banners and Flags

Get your group together and be creative with positive Banners on Compassion, Kindness, Love, Anti-Violence, and Anti-Domestic Violence Messages.

Your group may also bring flags: Compassion Flags, American Flags, State Flags, AY, Pathfinder, & Adventurer Flags, national flags are also welcomed. If you are bringing country flags, make sure that your group brings American Flags, as well.
